End of Camp by Marcus

I am excited for the end of camp. I miss my family a lot and I jut want to sleep and sleep some more. Even though I made a lot of friends and I like the food I like it better at home.

Highs and Lows of Camp by Zach

My favorite part of camp was our overnight. I had never been surfing, and I tried it. It was really fun. My least favorite part was Dahlia. It was kind of boring.

So What ARE The Tents like?

Giborei decided to interview some campers in Adat Shalom to find out more about the tents that they would be living in next summer.

Giborei: What are the tents like?
Adat Shalom: Fun and free because it's outdoors in a community.

Giborei: What do you do when it gets too hot in the tents?
Adat Shalom: We roll up the flaps for air conditioning and some people bring fans.

Giborei: How often are you in the tent?
Adat Shalom: For sleeping, menucha, and bonus time.

Giborei: Do you miss the bunks?
Adat Shalom: A teeny bit.

Giborei: Are the tents better than the bunks?
Adat Shalom: I prefer the tents.

Pros and Cons of the Tents:
Pros-
-better showers
-less people
-in a community

Cons-
-barely any space
-no air conditioning!

After surveying 10 different Adat Shalomers we came up with the percentages of campers who like bunks better and campers who like tents better:

Tents: 70%
Bunks: 30%

Aladdin Review

The Giborei Tarbut Play Performance put on a play called "Aladdin"

The Aladdin play was on Thursday, July 14th. It was a good musical/play. Ben and Alex, my bunkmates were in it and they were really good. In bunk 9, we wrote out, "Go Ben and Alex" on our chests. It was in Hebrew and it was really good! -Aviv

The play was very good. I liked when my bunkmates Ben Gur and Alex Coreman went on stage. -Gil

The play was really short but it was really good. It was all in Hebrew and I couldn't understand some of what they said but the acting helped. -Marcus

My favorite character of the play was Aladdin. Griffin Celler played him. He did a really great job. It seemed really hard to memorize the lines, especially because he had a lot and it was mostly in Hebrew. -Zach

I was the Genie in Aladdin. It was fun but kind of scary. It was weird performing in Hebrew, but I would do it again if I had to. -Sam

The play was really good. It was all in Hebrew and it was called Aladdin. Everyone was really good and had a great voice. I really enjoyed the play. -Noa

I was in the play (I was Jasmin). The play was yesterday. It was so fun! I really liked my dress. It was so pretty. I also liked it because I got to sing. Yes, there were some mess-ups but we improvised and made it look like the mess-ups were a part of the play. -Victoria

Maccabiah!!!

Maccabiah was a very interesting event. The opening ceremonies for the basketball events took place on the basketball courts themselves. I was on team adom (red). -Gil

Gil and two other campers show off the "Adom" sign.
Maccabiah ended a few days ago. My team (blue) did pretty well. Basketball was really fun! My team did well even though we thought the basket was slightly tilted. -Marcus

This is Asher in the Dribble Relay for Maccabiah.
The opening ceremonies for Maccabiah took place on the hill at night. All of the performances were good but I thought the red team's dance was the best. We had a combination of the songs "Wavin' Flag", "The Lion King", and "Never Say Never." The performance was really good and I enjoyed it. -Aviv

"Adam" is the center of attention in Adom's opening ceremony performance.

A camper is in the zone when it comes to the tug-o-war event.
I was on the yellow team during Maccabiah. One of the first events of the 2nd day for Maccabiah were the swimming events. We didn't do so well in swimming, but we did get 1st place in one of the swimming events! It was for the counselor race. Ari Levin was the counselor who participated. He is a pretty good swimmer. Green did the best in the swimming events. -Zach

Zach and other members of sahov. Since yellow is one of the Laker colors, we made a Laker's sign for the yellow team.

After swimming our half of the team switched with the other half and we went on to Track and Field events, which took place on the soccer field. The Track and Field events were really intense. I did the 50 meter dash. I was against all boys and I won! It was hard but really fun. I didn't know that kids at camp are all super fast. -Noa

Noa was in the lead during her 50 meter dash Maccabiah event.
After lunch we had the wacky events. I loved the wacky events even though I wasn't a participant. I did participate in one of the swimming events. Anyways, it was awesome! I was on the yellow team. Sam, one of my friends, was also on yellow and he won the three-legged race with another teammate. He is also the Genie in the play that Giborei is performing. -Victoria

The Wheelbarrow Race was just one of the many wacky games at Maccabiah, it was so cool!
Right after the wacky events came the closing ceremonies. The closing ceremonies were very fun. Yellow's ceremony had a theme about being golden. The blue team was praying in the "Cacholyland" and Red was all about Adomination. Green showed off the many talented team members in their final performance. The results of Maccabiah were surprising. In first place was Yarok (green), followed by Cachol (blue), Sahov (yellow), and last but not least Adom (red) in 4th place. -Sam

Dahlia!

Boker was our Dalia song. It was about waking up in the morning. I thought it was fun because I saw my beautiful mom and the rest of my family for Visitor's day. Our color was green which is my favorite color.     -Victoria F.

Dalia was fun. I loved watching the Gan kids, they are so cute. My favorite edah to watch was Amitzim, they were so good. -Noa G.

I had fun talking with all of my friends during Dalia. -Zach K.

The Gan kids who preformed were really cute. -Aviv G.

I loved Dalia last night. We did the song Boker. We wore green and we sang and danced. -Sam J.

I would like fake nails, a picture of my mom, glow sticks, my new puppy, my Wii (with the games for it), my DS (also with the games for it), my mom, and love from my family in a package. -Victoria F.

If my parents sent me a package, it would be a water-proof digital watch and my i-pod touch. -Aviv G.

If I got anything in a package here at camp, I would like to receive pictures of family and friends. I also want my i-pod touch and board game and lots of letters. -Sam J.

I want my mom to get me an i-pod touch. -Gil Y.

In a package I'd want a new suitcase for all the stuff that I've already gotten. -Marcus B.

In a package I would want an internet browser and a laptop. I would also want an X-Box 360 and a 60 inch flat screen TV. -Zach K.

If I got a package with anything in it i would want a big fluffy teddy bear because I want something to cuddle with. -Noa G.

I'm looking foward to the end of session plays. Hopefully I memorize my lines well (I'm Jasmine). I also miss my mom but this sunday is Visitor's day so I'm really looking foward to that. -Victoria F.

My goal in Camp Ramah is to touch the bottom of the pool after jumping in. At Camp Ramah, I'd like to try the ropes course. Camp is already so much fun, and I can't wait for the rest of camp. -Sam J.

My goal at camp is to chill on the hill as much as possible. I want to chill on the hill because it's such a beautiful thing to be out in nature and just relax. -Noa G.

My goal is to try the ropes course this summer. I want to because I have never been on it. -Zach K.
